Weekly Home Checks: Why They Matter (and What I Look For)

If you own a second home in Teton Valley, you know how quickly things can go sideways when no one's around to catch the little stuff. A frozen pipe, tripped breaker, leaky window, or dead vehicle battery can turn into a major headache if left unchecked.

That’s why I offer detailed weekly home checks—to catch those issues early and give you peace of mind when you're away.

Whether you’re gone for a week, a month, or a full season, I walk the property, inspect every critical system, and send you a report (with photos if needed). The goal is simple: keep your home secure, safe, and ready when you arrive.

What I Check Each Week

Here's a look at what’s included in my weekly inspection routine:

  • Doors, windows, and perimeter security

  • Heating systems and thermostats

  • Plumbing and septic system checks

  • Electrical panel and generator inspections

  • Hot water heater, appliances, and lighting

  • Smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and fireplace

  • Smart home systems and alarm functionality

  • Pest activity and rodent signs

  • Vehicle battery and fluid checks

  • Propane, water softener, and irrigation status

  • Hot tub condition and clarity

  • Final report and photos sent via text or email
